10  Influential    Nubian – Egyptian Religious Beliefs 

 

 

 

1.           The god  Amen was a  principal deity  in  Nubian-Egyptian  liturgy.
               Some scholars believe that  constant appeal to Amen  was  incorporated into Christian 
               liturgy in prayers and  hymns.
 

 

2.           The ram was a symbol  for  the god  Amen and  some argue that  this practice
              may have been incorporated into  Christianity. Christ was often associated with the  ram.
 
3.           The concept  Mother of God was central to Nubian –Egyptian theology and remains central to  Christianity.
 
4.           Auset,  called Isis by Greek settler colonists, was  a paragon of  Virgin Birth and immaculate conception.
 

5.           Egyptian and Nubian  spiritual entities were often classified in groups of three. Note the  famous 

               Egyptian  Trinity of Ausares (Osiris), Auset (Isis) & Heru (Horus)

 

 

6.          The concept of a rebel serpent, Sata,  is also  crucial in the ancient  Nubian –Egyptian religious.

 

 

7.            The  idea of a  day of Judgement –  presided over by  the god  Ausares is central

               in Nubian-Egyptian theology.

 

 

8.            The ankh  =  the   cross  symbol
 
9             Mother and Child representation of Heru (Horus) suckling the breast of Auset(Isis) parallels Madonna and Child symbolism.
 

 

10.          Some  Christian hymns are word- for- word translations of Egyptian hymns.

 

 

 

              The  Nubian Egyptian religious system predated Christianity by at least  2000 years
